Advocacy Beyond the Therapy Room
My passion for supporting the perinatal population is deeply rooted in both my professional work and my personal commitment to improving access to care for families during pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood. I believe every parent deserves compassionate, culturally responsive mental health support during one of life’s most vulnerable transitions.
As a Latina clinician, I am especially passionate about addressing the cultural and systemic barriers that often prevent Latina mothers and families in the United States from accessing mental health care. Too often, stigma, language barriers, and limited culturally responsive resources leave families feeling isolated when support is most needed. My work is grounded in helping bridge that gap—creating spaces where clients feel seen, understood, and empowered to seek support.
My advocacy extends beyond the therapy room. I had the honor of visiting the White House alongside fellow perinatal mental health providers and advocates to discuss the importance of improving access to mental health support and resources for individuals and families experiencing Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. Standing in that space and contributing to that conversation was a powerful reminder of why this work matters so deeply to me—and reinforced my commitment to ensuring that all families, regardless of background, have access to the support they deserve.
